So he did it. Jachai ran a PB (personal best) in the 100 meter dash with 11.69. Not surprised, but by the grace of God he was able to do it. Its wonderful when you see your own personal developments, but when your children do it that’s another story.
Though the time wasn’t jaw-dropping, the progression is most certainly on an excellent pace. Hopefully, by his junior year of high school he’ll consistently run in the 10.75 to 10.9 range. With ongoing commitment I can see him extending the history of Pinellas County track and field greatness. (see 2016 Olympian and Gibbs HS alum, Trayvon Bromell)
The video shown here is footage of that particular event. I’m not quite sure of how Jachai (or the Northeast Vikings) fared overall in terms of points, but I’m grateful to see the strides he has made since he began running AAU track and field in the spring of 2016.
